Ian Argall – Executive Director | |
Ian was appointed as Executive Director of AHEIA in October 1999. He joined AHEIA as a Senior Industrial Officer in 1996, from his previous role as Manager, Industrial Relations at Macquarie University. Ian has worked in the higher education sector since the mid-1980s and has also worked in industrial relations in the manufacturing and retail industries. He is a graduate of Macquarie University. Catherine Pugsley - Workplace Relations Consultant | |
Cathy has been with AHEIA since mid-2000. Prior to that she was a solicitor in private practice working exclusively in workplace relations. Cathy has also worked in industrial relations and human resources in the manufacturing sector, and as an industrial officer with a large employer association. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Deakin University and a Graduate Diploma in Labour Relations Law from the University of Melbourne. P: | |
Robyn Trevaskis | Robyn left AHEIA in November 2009 to take up another appointment. We wish Robyn all the best in her new appointment and thank her for the considerable contribution she has made to the Association since joining us in November 2002. |
Peter Raymond - Workplace Relations Consultant | |
Peter is an experienced industrial officer who joined AHEIA in 2008. Peter has previously worked in the Australian Public Service at Centrelink, and then for the CPSU (SPSF as it was then known) in the early 90s as an industrial officer. He subsequently worked at RMIT University in the mid to late 90’s and at La Trobe University until 2006, followed by 2 years as a consultant with a private firm. Peter has a particular interest in the process of formulating and settling workplace agreements. P: | |
Gerard Grant - Program Manager Member Education | |
| Gerard joined AHEIA in July 2007. Gerard has extensive experience in all areas of Human Resources Management having worked in a variety of roles with Australia Post, the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) and the City of Whittlesea (Local Government). Gerard’s last role prior to commencing with AHEIA was with the City of Whittlesea (Local Government) as the Senior Human Resources Advisor/Deputy General Manager HR. Prior to working for Whittlesea, Gerard worked for the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria as the Senior Learning Advisor before being appointed as the Human Resources Manager for the RACV Centre. Gerard has a keen interest in workplace learning and holds a Degree in Adult Learning and Development and a Master of Education (Work and Learning Studies) from Monash University. Gerard is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education at La Trobe University. P: | |
Natalie Bourne - Executive Assistant | |
Natalie joined AHEIA in March 2002 as Office Manager thru to July 2006 when she took maternity leave. She returned in August 2007 as Executive Assistant and works on special projects and is assisting Gerard Grant on developing a learning program for our members. Before joining AHEIA, Natalie worked in real estate sales. Most of Natalie’s administrative experience was gained in private legal practice, where she assisted partners in several national law firms, and was Office Manager for a Melbourne-based legal practice. David Wedgwood - Manager Sydney Office | |
David joined the Sydney office of AHEIA in March 2002 from Airservices Australia, Canberra, where he was its Senior Adviser, Workplace Relations. Before that he was Manager Employee Relations at the University of Wollongong for four years. David also has more than 20 years experience in the Queensland, Australian and ACT government sectors, including five years as Assistant Secretary of the ACT Branch of the (now) CPSU. Leah Angrisano - Research Officer | |
Leah joined AHEIA in 2009 as a Research and Workplace Relations Officer. In 2005, Leah graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences with a double major in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management and Government and International Relations. Leah previously worked for the Finance Sector Union where she gained practical experience of HR policies and practices across the Australian retail banking sector. P: | |
Andrea Ellison - Administration Assistant | |
Andrea joined AHEIA Sydney's office in February 2006 in an administrative role. Andrea graduated in 1988 from Anchor College in South Africa with Honours in Secretarial and Legal Secretarial. Since graduating she has worked in various secretarial positions. Andrea immigrated to Sydney in 1998 with her husband and 2 children, and for the past 7 years had been working in a busy Podiatry Practice as the Practice Manageress. Ph: | |
