Executive Committee

An Executive Committee of six member representatives, elected biennially, oversees AHEIA policy and strategic direction, while responsibility for the association’s day-to-day operations is delegated to an Executive Director.

The Vice-Chancellor (or Director) of each member university, or their delegate, represents his or her institution at an annual general meeting and at any extraordinary meetings held throughout the year.

The AHEIA Executive Committee is:


Professor Jeanette Hacket (President)  - Curtin University

Professor Jeanette Hacket has been President of AHEIA since November 2009. She has been Vice - Chancellor of Curtin University since April 2006, having held a variety of senior positions at Curtin University from 1991.

Professor Hacket is a legal practitioner and has an interest in health law and international law. She has worked extensively in internationalisation, developing educational programs and relationships overseas, and in the development and implementation of quality assurance for international activities.


Professor Greg Craven (Vice-President) - Australian Catholic University

Professor Greg Craven has been Vice-President of AHEIA since November 2009. He has been Vice - Chancellor of the Australian Catholic university since February 2008. Professor Craven was a Deputy Vice-Chancellor Curtin University , the Foundation Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia, and a Reader in Law at the University of Melbourne. He also served as Crown Counsel to the Victorian Government from 1992-95.

Professor Craven, one of Australia’s most noted authorities on constitutional and public law, has published numerous journal articles and books, and is a regular contributor to public debate and a columnist for the various media outlets including The Australian Financial Review and The Australian’s Higher Education Supplement.
