What the program is about

This program developed initially in partnership with Central Queensland Univeristy provides participants with the fundamental skills in performance management including setting clear performance expectations; delivering performance feedback and managing the formal performance managment processes. Participants are encouraged to practice having the 'difficult conversation' and are provided with valuable feedback as part of these activities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop fundamental skills to manage performance for success
  • List some of the key steps required to effectively communicate expectations
  • Give feedback effectively
  • Understand how to plan and structure informal and formal performance management discussions
  • Identify particular challenges associated with managing unsatisfactory performance
  • Formulate strategies to overcome barriers associated with managing unsatisfactory performance
  • Give examples of the practical application of relevant University policies, procedures and agreement clauses for managing unsatisfactory performance


As with all AHEIA training programs, this workshop is designed to be interactive and participatory, and uses a mix of facilitated discussion with practical small group activities  designed to develop knowledge, skills and confidence.

Anoop has extensive experience in the areas of Leadership Development and Change Management as a designer, coach and facilitator of intensive programs. He started his career with ANZ in 1999 holding prominent roles as a Project Manager, Senior Risk Manager and a Consultant/Facilitator in Leadership and Cultural Transformation.

Training Terms, Conditions & Refunds

More than 28 calendar days prior to event start date a participant may: substitute an attendee, transfer to an alternative program date or cancel participation in a training program and request a refund by emailing

15 - 28 calendar days prior to event start date a participant may: substitute an attendee or transfer to an alternative program date

14 calendar days or less prior to event start date  a participant may: substitute an attendee.

To ensure the maximum value for AHEIA members, a minimum number of participants are required to run a successful program. AHEIA reserves the right to cancel or postpone a program to an alternative date. In this event registrants will be offered the opportunity to transfer to the next available program, or receive a full refund.
