As mentioned in the Sector Check-In on Friday 15 December 2023, the first consideration in the Modern Awards Review 2023–24  the Fair Work Commission will look at whether the terms of modern awards support the new modern awards objective of the Fair Work Act 2009 regarding job security and the need to improve access to secure work across the economy.

The Commission has now issued a Discussion Paper and timetabling as follows:

  • Submissions in response due: 5 February 2024
  • Mention: 6 February 2024
  • Consultation with interested parties: 12 February – 8 March 2024

AHEIA will be consulting with members regarding the content of our submission during January 2024, including at the first Sector Check-In for the year on 19 January 2024 and will represent members in the consultation process in the Commission.

If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Pugsley.
