Home | Member Updates | New Specialist Court Proposed to Enforce Worker's Rights
The Federal Government has announced plans to establish a specialist Fair Work Court to provide a simpler, faster and more accessible forum for resolving workplace relations disputes. The proposed Court would operate alongside the Fair Work Commission and be staffed by judges with workplace relations expertise, with the aim of reducing the cost and time involved in resolving workplace matters. Consultation on the Court's design will commence later this year, with employers, employees, and the legal professions invited to provide feedback before the Government determines the final model.
AHEIA will participate in this consultation and continue to update members on developments and proposed jurisdiction of this new Court.
