The AHEIA fortnightly sector check-ins are going from strength to strength.

AHEIA has analysed attendance at the sector check-ins covering 30 fortnightly meetings between February 2025 and July 2026.
The analysis includes external attendees, attendance trends, participant job titles and university-level engagement patterns.
This year, the average attendance has been 133 attendees. The highest attendance was in October 2025 at 150 attendees. The lowest was 84 in December 2025.
Key findings
The data suggests the sector check-ins is reaching the right audience. Thank you for being prepared to attend, share your news and raise issues.
Participation is concentrated amongst workplace relations, employee relations and industrial relations practitioners. AHEIA's analysis found that:
- The most engaged attendees are:
- Workplace Relations Directors
- Associate Directors
- Heads of Employee Relations
- Senior Workplace Relations Advisers,
- Employment Relations Consultants
- Industrial Relations Specialist
- Employment Lawyers
- CPOs and senior people executives do attend.
- The strongest ongoing participation comes from WR/ER/IR leaders, specialists and practitioners.
Some of the issues addressed include:
- New IR legislation such as fixed-term contract regulations
- AHEIA submissions to parliamentary inquiries
- Statement from regulators
- AI developments
- NTEU activities
- Gender-based violence
- Parliamentary inquiry outcomes, such as the recent wage underpayment inquiry
Some discussions on issues involve external consultants, such as lawyers or representatives from regulators.

AHEIA structures the sector check-ins to be an important "keep me up to date" forum for present and emerging developments in workplace relations, employment law, regulatory operations and governance across the sector.
